about

Last year, Stockholm based Delsbo Beach Club established themselves as one of the most promising names on the Swedish indie scene. Debut single All The Way Home was released in October and saw the band quickly earn a spot as the second most blogged act worldwide on Hype Machine as well as receiving praise from national newspapers to CLASH Magazine. After som line-up changes, the five piece is finally set to follow-up the debut single with new cut Talking In My Head, out via Rama Lama Records.

Talking In My Head picks up where All The Way Home left off, a sound that's been described as a golden combination of Mac DeMarco and Beach House in a very own way. Erik Björklund's howling vocals is yet again a vital part of Delsbo Beach Club's fuzzy indie pop, finding it's irresistible strength in the guitar-driven melody.

Erik tells the story behind the song: ”It’s a song with two repeated sentences that tells a story about a night when I met a person that later came to be very important for me. The feeling and lyrics tells the only thought I had in my head at that time.

I met this girl one night, just after I moved to Stockholm. I was out for a few beers with a couple of my bandmates. It was after a rehearsal so I had my guitar with me. Eventually, my bandmates left and there I was with this girl. We talked all night and finally ended up somewhere near Södermalmstorg, where we sat and played my electric guitar (unplugged) and sang tunes we had written ourselves, smoking cigarettes and just being caught in the moment. It was February so it was totally freezing but we stayed outside for like two or three hours.

I found myself starting to get feelings for her so I wanted to tell her everything and nothing all at once. At the same time I was afraid of accidentally lying to her. It's weird. So I ended up Talking In My Head and I wrote the song the following day, a song containing both euphoria and melancholy, something I usually have very hard to express in this way.”

Delsbo Beach Club started out as a solo project by frontman Erik Björklund, with a long-time fascination of DIY and bedroom-pop Erik recorded the demos in his new room and set the ground for Delsbo Beach Club's charming sound. After a few line-up changes the band, featuring members of Matriarkatet, Star Horse and Pinemen, now consist of Alexander Kuronen (drums), Ebba Vikdahl (guitar), Jesper Jonason (keyboard) and Stas Neylik (bass), but the single was recorded with Max Englund (guitar) and Aron Lange (bass).

Talking In My Head is out on all platforms via Rama Lama Records (Steve Buscemi's Dreamy Eyes, Melby, Cat Princess, Chez Ali etc.) and a debut EP is to expect during 2018
